The purpose of the program is to assist student to prepare themselves to win scholarship to colleges and universities aboard,
to thrive in their studies, and to return to Myanmar to begin their careers. All twenty-seven graduates who received sufficiently
generous scholarships obtained visas, 24 to the US plus one each to Japan, Canada & Singapore. All have done four month internships
in UN agencies, NGOs, or businesses so that they have realistic plans for finding their first job. The program admits students who
have passed the matriculation (or the equivalent) and are age 16, with preference for those under 22. The application for 2007-08 is
available now.
